ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
Facilitators are usually individuals who assist teams in the process — how the team works and comes to decisions.ASTD views facilitation skills as a core component of Human Performance Improvement (HPI), a key component of ASTD's nine Areas of Expertise (AOEs).

Although training is an important HPI intervention, facilitation or process facilitation, as it is defined in HPI, has a different goal. In HPI, the role of the facilitator involves helping performers, performers’ managers, process owners, and stakeholders to discover new insights and work to make positive changes in the organization.

The program will focus on two areas:

1. Overview of facilitation techniques
2. Using facilitation to help an organization with process mapping.

As a workplace learning professional with Roanoke City Government since 2005, Paulette has facilitated sessions with public safety, human services, public works, civic facilities, libraries, parks & recreation, & planning, building, and development.
